Summary: A mysterious sphere descends into the woods. Only Tim sees this and makes use of it. In the process of investigating, he finds animals afflicted by a black growth of unknown origin. When he gets back to his cabin, he’s terrified to learn that whatever disease the object brought to Earth, Tim has contracted it, too.

And thus begins a hell on earth. Tim gets increasingly sick, succumbs to the illness and dies — only to wake up again the next morning.
